NEW! Introducing Capital Chic Outfit Designer January 16 2017

I'm very excited to be unveiling a new feature on our website today: Capital Chic Outfit Designer!

The idea behind Outfit Designer is to help you plan your sewing projects using Capital Chic patterns - you can select any dress, shirt or skirt (or any combination of the separates) from either of our collections and choose a colour or upload a photo of some fabric from your stash to create an illustration of how it will look. Click here to try it out.

Say you're thinking about making the Cosmopolitan dress with red fabric and matching lace trim. In just a few seconds you can customise the model with your own skin and hair colour (or choose the colours of whoever you're making it for), and select red fabric and lace.

Red looks great, but what if I made it in tartan? Just snap a photo of the fabric, upload it, and ta da!

I also have this great sequin fabric in stash - would that work?

And then you can have hours of fun snapping photos of your fabrics and trying them out in different designs. Here are a few I made earlier (these might look familiar):

I hope you have as much fun playing with this new toy as I have! You can share the outfits you make by pressing 'share image' and using the Pinterest, Facebook or Twitter share buttons. To share on your blog or on Instagram, please use the 'Download Image' button and share that. I would love to see what you make so please do tag me in your shares! This feature is currently in Beta while we test it out fully, so we'd love to have your feedback on what worked, what didn't work, or any questions, comments or suggestions. Either leave a comment below or email us at web@capitalchicpatterns.com. Thanks in advance and happy designing!
